This years selection of women’s trench coats are sleek, sexy, and oh so stylish!  No matter what you are wearing, a trench coat makes you look like the fashion maven of your neighborhood.

While there slight adjustments and alterations to each years trench coat style, the basic concept remains the same and is a time-less fashion must have for your wardrobe.

Women’s Trench Coats – The Sleeves

The clean cut sleeve of a womans trench coat is the “norm”, but now you will find womens trench coats with sleeves that are “bunched” up almost to the elbows.  While some find this trench coat style a bit messy looking, some women can really pull of this style.  I think a lot of it has to do with your body type.  Someone who is tall and lean can easily pull off a bunched looking trench coat, however women of a shorter stature that are a bit more “full” might do better with straight sleeves on their trench coat to avoid looking clumpy.

Women’s Trench Coats – The Length

Seems no matter what we do, shorter seems to be more fashionable the older we get.  This years womens trench coats tend to be a bit shorter than the traditional trench coat in an attempt to emphasize a woman’s waist.  If these shorter trench coats flare some at the waist, you can get away with wearing this style of trench coat over a dress.  However, if it is a straight line trench coat, you might want to opt for a longer version of a trench coat if you will be wearing it over dresses and skirts most often.

Womens Trench Coats – Colors and Patterns

Personally, I am a big fan of the traditional cut of women’s trench coats. Call me old-fashioned, but there is something about doing too much to a good thing when trench coats are so simply sexy to begin with.

I like my outfits to have the colors and patterns, and my trench coats to be in my more basic neutral colors such as black, brown and tan. I’ve seen some really cute trench coats in crazy patterns, but to me, that means my outfit needs to be more neutral so it doesn’t clash or steal the show from my trench coat.

Now, one thing I am nuts about is a pink womens trench coat. Talk about sweet and sexy at the same time! This years trench coats are available in many shades of pink…and this tickles ME pink =)

I love pink…it is so feminine in my opinion. I search out pink for all womens winter coats I look for whether its womens wool coats or womens down coats….pink is it for me. Either that, or a neutral color (so I can wear pink underneath!)

Well, nothing of course! haha! In all seriousness, be careful what you wear under your trench coat. If your clothes underneath are baggy and loose, it will really ruin the effect of your trench coat. You can go from a fashion WHOA to a fashion NO! in a heartbeat. Tighter clothes underneath make womens trench coats fit the best…and look the best.
